SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the applicant ’ s pre-trial detention on charges of drug trafficking and other offences, from 7 June 2012 until 5 December 2013 (approximately 1 year and 6 months). Subsequently, he was placed in home arrest which measure was still in place when he introduced the application (3 June 2014).

QUESTION tO THE PARTIES

Have the repeated extensions of the applicant ’ s pre-trial detention been in breach of the “reasonable time” requirement of Article 5 § 3 of the Convention?
