FIRST SECTION

Application no. 3207/19 Đuro PJEVAČ and Others against Croatia lodged on 4 January 2019

SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the alleged lack of an effective investigation into the killing of the applicants ’ mother, B.P., in 1993.

In 2017 the applicants lodged a constitutional complaint in which they complained, inter alia , about the lack of an adequate procedural response of the domestic authorities to their mother ’ s killing. In its decision rendered in 2018 the Constitutional Court found that there had been no violation of Article 21 of the Constitution guaranteeing the right to life.

QUESTION TO THE PARTIES

Having regard to the procedural protection of the right to life (see Salman v. Turkey [GC], no. 21986/93, § 104 of ECHR 2000 ‑ VII), did the investigation by the domestic authorities comply with the requirements of Article 2 of the Convention?
