SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE
The applications concern the length of bankruptcy proceedings, which the Supreme Court found to have violated the reasonable-time requirement under Article 6 of the Convention and awarded the applicants monetary redress. The applicants complain that the amount of compensation awarded to them was low and that the Supreme Court did not issue an acceleration order requesting the lower courts to decide the case expeditiously.
QUESTIONS TO THE PARTIES
1. Was the length of the bankruptcy proceedings in the present case in breach of the “reasonable time” requirement as guaranteed by Article 6 § 1 of the Convention (see, for example, Frydlender v.
