SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The present case concerns the conviction of the applicant as a result of a false accusation of a police officer.

QUESTIONS tO THE PARTIES

1. Has there been an interference with the applicant ’ s freedom of expression , in particular his right to impart information, within the meaning of Article 10 § 1 of the Convention? ( see Marinova and Others v. Bulgaria , nos. 33502/07 and 3 others , 12 July 2016; Marin Kostov v. Bulgaria , no. 13801/07 , §§ 40–51, 24 July 2012; and Kazakov v. Russia , no. 1758 /02, 18 December 2008).

2. If so, was that interference prescribed by law and necessary in terms of Article 10 § 2? Was the interference proportionate to a legitimate aim?
