FIRST SECTION

Application no. 31221/15 Egill EINARSSON against Iceland lodged on 16 June 2015

SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the alleged violation of the applicant ’ s right to respect for his private life under Article 8 of the Convention.

QUESTION S tO THE PARTIES

Has there been an interference with the applicant ’ s right to respect for his private life, in particular his personal honour and reputation, within the meaning of Article 8 § 1 of the Convention by the Supreme Court decision of 18 December 2014 not to award damages and legal costs to the applicant? If so, was the interference in accordance with law, did it pursue a legitimate aim and was it necessary in a democratic society? ( see Kahn v. Germany , no. 16313/10 , 17 March 2016)
