SECOND SECTION

Application no. 67626/13 Iurie MOROZAN against the Republic of Moldova lodged on 10 October 2013

SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the applicant ’ s detention in pre-trial detention for more than two years before his conviction for murder. He complains under Article 5 §§ 1 and 3 of the Convention that his detention was not lawful under domestic law, that it was too long and not based on relevant and sufficient reasons. Since the applicant ’ s d etention was longer than twelve months, the case raises issues which resemble those examined in Savca v. the Republic of Moldova , no. 17963/08 , 15 March 2016.

QUESTION tO THE PARTIES

Was the applicant deprived of his liberty during his pre-trial detention in breach of Article 5 § 1 of the Convention (see Savca v. the Republic of Moldova , no. 17963/08 , 15 March 2016 )?
