SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE
The application concerns the applicant ’ s criminal convictions in three sets of proceedings on account of his participation in three demonstrations held on 22 November 2004, 1 November 2005 and 3 June 2006 in the K ızıltepe district of Mardin . At the end of two of those sets of criminal proceedings the applicant was convicted of disseminating propaganda in support of the PKK, an illegal armed organisation, under section 7 § 2 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (Law no. 3713). The third set of proceedings, on the other hand, ended with the applicant ’ s conviction under Article 28 § 1 of the Marches and Demonstrations Act (Law no. 2911) for organising a demonstration without prior authorisation. The applicant was sentenced to a total of two years and one month of imprisonment as a result of the aforementioned convictions.
The applicant relies on Article 6 §§ 1, 2 and 3, Article 9, Article 10 and Article 11 of the Convention.

Has there been a violation of the applicant ’ s right to freedom of expression, contrary to Article 10 of the Convention, or his right to freedom of assembly, contrary to Article 11 of the Convention, on account of his convictions under section 7 § 2 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act and Article 28 § 1 of the Marches and Demonstrations Act?
