SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the applicant ’ s detention on remand pending trial for over two years, between 7 Marcy 2014 and 12 July 2016.

The applicant complains under Article 5 §§ 1 and 3 that his detention was not based on relevant and sufficient reasons.

QUESTION tO THE PARTIES

Was the applicant ’ s detention based on relevant and sufficient reasons as required by Article 5 § 3 of the Convention and was its length in breach of the “reasonable time” requirement ( Rimschi v. the Republic of Moldova , no. 1649/12 , § 21, 13 January 2015) .
