SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE
The application concerns the airing on television of a news item concerning a sex tape involving the applicant, a school teacher at the time, which had been made public by her former boyfriend as a form of pornography revenge. The news item made the applicant easily identifiable and included interviews with her colleagues and her mother. As a result, the applicant was forced to quit her job and her village. The applicant initiated court proceedings against the television station claiming compensation for defamation. The action was upheld and the applicant was awarded compensation in the amount of some EUR 2,000.
