SECOND SECTION

Application no. 7012/14 Vitalie CREÈšU against the Republic of Moldova lodged on 31 December 2013

SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the applicant ’ s ill-treatment during the events of April 2009, when hundreds of persons were arrested. The domestic courts found that the applicant had been ill-treated and awarded him the equivalent of 592 euros in moral damages.

The application raises an issue under Article 3 of the Convention.

QUESTION TO THE PARTIES

Has there been a breach of Article 3 of the Convention in the present case? In particular, can the applicant still claim to be a victim of such a breach, in view of the conviction of the offic ers which he accused of his ill ‑ treatment and the amount of compensation awarded by the domestic courts (see Ciorap v. Moldova (no. 2) , no. 7481/06, §§ 18-25, 20 July 2010 )?
