SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the domestic authorities ’ decision to remove their parental responsibilities in respect of their daughter, X, authorise that X be adopted by her foster parents, and rule out further contact between the applicants and X .

Under Article 8 the applicants complain of a violation of their right to respect for their family life.

QUESTION tO THE PARTIES

Has there been a violation of the applicants ’ right to respect for their family life, contrary to Article 8 of the Convention, through the authorities ’ decision to remove their parental responsibilities in respect of their daughter, to authorise that the latter be adopted by her foster parents, and to rule out contact with their daughter (see, for example, S.S. v.
