Application no. 74910/16 Marios ELIADES and others against Cyprus lodged on 29 November 2016

SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The applicants complain under Article 6 § 1 of the Convention about the length of the civil proceedings in appeal no. 319/2008. The applicants lodged an application (no. 1/2014) before the Supreme Court under Law no. 2(I)/2010, the Law Providing For Effective Remedies for Exceeding the Reasonable Time Requirement for the Determination of Civil Rights and Obligations, complaining about the length of the proceedings in appeal no. 319/2008 but their claim was dismissed.

QUESTION TO THE PARTIES

Was the length of the civil proceedings in appeal no. 319/2008 in breach of the “reasonable time” requirement of Article 6 § 1 of the Convention?

The Government are requested to provide the Court with the record of the proceedings.
