Application no. 24408/16 Imre SZOLCSÁN against Hungary lodged on 20 April 2016

SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

Relying on Article 14 of the Convention read in conjunction with Article 2 of Protocol No. 1, the applicant, of Roma ethnic origin, complains that he was enrolled in a primary school only attended by Roma pupils; his efforts to be admitted to a non-segregated school having failed. His legal action and constitutional complaint were to no avail.

QUESTION TO THE PARTIES

Has there been a breach of the applicant ’ s rights under Article 2 of Protocol No. 1 read in conjunction with Article 14 of the Convention to have education free of discrimination?
