THIRD SECTION

Application no. 30238/19 Vasiliy Vasilyevich POPANDOPULO against Russia c ommunicated on 5 July 2021

SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the domestic courts ’ alleged failure to adduce relevant and sufficient reasons in order to justify the applicant ’ s placement since 27 July 2018 under house arrest in the proceedings initiated against him on suspicion of fraud (see Buzadji v. the Republic of Moldova [GC], no. 23755/07, §§ 104-05, ECHR 2016 (extracts)).

QUESTIONS TO THE PARTIES

1. Bearing in mind that the applicant is under house arrest since 27 July 2018, was its length in breach of the “reasonable time” requirement of Article 5 § 3 of the Convention?

2. If the applicant ’ s house arrest was extended after the date of the applicant ’ s last letter to the Court, the parties are invited to indicate the overall length of the house arrest and the reasons for its extension and to submit the relevant court orders.
