Having regard to the above application lodged on 28 September 2010,
Having deliberated, decides as follows:
FACTS AND PROCEDURE
The applicant, Mr Aleksandr Ismaylovich Akhmedzhanov, a Russian national, was born in 1956.
The Russian Government (“the Government”) were represented by Mr G. Matyushkin, the Representative of the Russian Federation at the European Court of Human Rights.
The applicant complained under Article 6 of the Convention about inability to examine witnesses testifying against him.
By letter dated 10 October 2014, the detention facility where the applicant had been serving the sentence informed the Court that the applicant died on 26 October 2012.
By letter of 27 November 2014 the applicant ’ s heirs were invited to inform the Court by 16 January 2015 whether they wished to pursue his application. No reply was received by the Court.
THE LAW
In the light of the foregoing, the Court concludes that nothing justifies further examination of the application within the meaning of Article 37 § 1 of the Convention.
In view of the above, it is appropriate to strike the case out of the list.
For these reasons, the Court, unanimously,
Decides to strike the application out of its list of cases.
