SECOND SECTION

DECISION

Application no. 74289/10 Destine GÜVEN against Turkey and 9 other applications (see list appended)

The European Court of Human Rights (Second Section), sitting on 20 November 2018 as a Committee composed of:

Ledi Bianku, President, Jon Fridrik Kjølbro, Ivana Jelić, judges, and Hasan Bakırcı, Deputy Section Registrar ,

Having regard to the above applications lodged on the various dates indicated in the appended table ,

Having deliberated, decides as follows:

FACTS AND PROCEDURE

1. A list of the applicants is set out in the appendix.

2. The applicants ’ complaints under Article 1 of Protocol No. 1 were communicated to the Turkish Government (“the Government”), who were represented by their Agent.

3. On 19 March 2018 the Government submitted their observations on the admissibility and merits of the applications.

4. Following the applicants ’ failure to submit their observations within the time-limit, on 17 July 2018 another letter was sent to them by the Registry, reminding them that the period allowed for submission of their observations in reply had expired on 11 May 2018 and that no extension of time had been requested. Their attention was drawn to Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention.

5. The applicants failed to respond to the last letter of the Registry, which had been received by their representative on 25 July 2018.

THE LAW

6. Having regard to the similar subject matter of the applications, the Court finds it appropriate to examine them jointly in a single decision.

7. The Court considers that, in these circumstances, the applicants may be regarded as no longer wishing to pursue their applications, within the meaning of Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention. Furthermore, in accordance with Article 37 § 1 in fine , the Court finds no special circumstances regarding respect for human rights as defined in the Convention and its Protocols which require the continued examination of the cases.

8. In view of the above, it is appropriate to strike the case s out of the list.

For these reasons, the Court, unanimously,

Decides to join the applications;

Decides to strike the applications out of its list of cases.

Done in English and notified in writing on 13 December 2018 .
