SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The applicants, who are convicted prisoners, complain that because they spoke in Kurdish to their visitors, their visiting rights were restricted by the prison authorities. In this connection, they allege a violation of their right to respect for private and family life.

QUESTION TO THE PARTIES

Having regard to the fact that the applicants ’ visiting rights were restricted by the prison authorities, based on the fact that the applicants had spoken to their visitors in Kurdish, has there been an interference with the applicants ’ right to respect for their private and family life, within the meaning of Article 8 § 1 of the Convention? If so, was that interference in accordance with the law and necessary in terms of Article 8 § 2?
