SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns the applicant ’ s remand in custody for almost twenty-eight months. It raises problems concerning the lawfulness of the detention, the existence of relevant and sufficient grounds for detention and poor material conditions of detention.

QUESTIONS tO THE PARTIES

1. Was the applicant deprived of his liberty during his pre-trial detention in breach of Article 5 § 1 of the Convention (see Savca v. the Republic of Moldova , no. 17963/08 , 15 March 2016 )?

2. Was the length of the applicant ’ s pre-trial detention in breach of the “reasonable time” requirement of Article 5 § 3 of the Convention?
