SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE

The application concerns a Sikh family with two minor children hailing from Kabul, Afghanistan whose asylum application was rejected by the Netherlands. The applicants allege that their removal to Afghanistan will violate their rights under Articles 2 and 3 of the Convention.

QUESTION tO THE PARTIES

In the light of the applicants ’ claims and the documents which have been submitted, more specifically the documents from the UNHCR, and in light of information set out in the UK Home Office ’ s “Country Policy and Information Note Afghanistan: Hindus and Sikhs” of 7 February 2017 (enclosed), would the applicants face a risk of being subjected to treatment in breach of Articles 2 and/or 3 of the Convention if the expulsion order were enforced?
