Length of proceedings before the administrative courts: violation

The case concerns the length of proceedings brought by the applicant before the administrative courts in May 1988.  The proceedings ended in July 1996 and therefore last ed around 8 years and 2 months.

Conclusion : violation (unanimous).

Article 41: The Court awarded the applicant 5,000 francs (FRF) in respect of non-pecuniary damage.  It also made an award of 4,400 francs in respect of costs.
