Application no . 44021/13 Z.Z. against Hungary
The European Court of Human Rights (Fourth Section), sitting on 25 April 2017 as a Committee composed of:

Having regard to the above application lodged on 2 July 2013,
Having deliberated, decides as follows:
FACTS AND PROCEDURE
1. The applicant, Z.Z. , is a Hungarian national, who was born in 1979 and lives in Budapest. The President granted the applicant ’ s request for his identity not to be disclosed to the public (Rule 47 § 4). He was represented before the Court by Mr D. A. Karsai, a lawyer practising in Budapest.
2. The applicant ’ s complaint about the levying of tax at a rate of 98% on part of his severance payment allegedly resulting in an unjustified deprivation of property (Article 1 of Protocol No. 1 to the Convention) was communicated to the Hungarian Government, who were represented by their Agent, Mr Z. Tallódi, Agent, Ministry of Justice.
3. On 3 January 2017 the applicant ’ s representative informed the Court that the applicant wanted to withdraw the application.
THE LAW
4. In the light of the foregoing, and in the absence of any special circumstances regarding respect for the rights guaranteed by the Convention or its Protocols, the Court, in accordance with Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention, considers that it is no longer justified to continue the examination of the application.
In view of the above, it is appropriate to strike the case out of the list.
For these reasons, the Court, unanimously,
Decides to strike the application out of its list of cases.
