Having regard to the above application lodged on 21 January 2011 ,

Having deliberated, decides as follows:

FACTS AND PROCEDURE

The applicant, Elchin Mammadov , was born in 1988.

He was represented before the Court by Mr Z. Mammadov , a lawyer practising in Azerbaijan.

The applicant ’ s complaint, in substance, under Article 6 § 3 (c) of the Convention concerning lack of legal assistance at the initial stages of the pre-trial investigation was communicated to the Azerbaijani Government (“the Government”) .

On 3 October 2018 the applicant informed the Registry that he wanted to withdraw the application to the Court since he is no longer interested in pursuing his application.

THE LAW

In the light of the foregoing, and in the absence of any special circumstances regarding respect for the rights guaranteed by the Convention and the Protocols thereto, the Court, in accordance with Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention, considers that it is no longer justified to continue the examination of the application.

Accordingly, the case should be struck out of the list.

For these reasons, the Court, unanimously,

Decides to strike the application out of its list of cases.
