COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 3476/80 of 30 December 1980 amending various Regulations as a result of Greek accession THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, Having regard to the Treaty concerning the accession of the Hellenic Republic to the European Economic Community and to the European Atomic Energy Community (1), and in particular Article 146 of the Act annexed thereto, Whereas under Article 22 of the Act concerning the accession of the Hellenic Republic adaptations to the acts listed in Annex II to that Act must be made in accordance with the guidelines set out in that Annex; Whereas adaptations must also be made to acts which were adopted after signature of the Treaty of Accession and are valid beyond 1 January 1981; Whereas the present provisions of Article 4 of Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2300/73 of 23 August 1973 on detailed rules for applying the differential amounts for colza and rape seed and repealing Regulation (EEC) No 1464/73 (2), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 1234/77 (3), result in the exchange rates being ascertained at different times for the various currencies ; whereas these differences may be avoided by using the rates for the ECU calculated and published daily by the Commission; Whereas the rates for the ECU are based on data communicated by the central banks of the Member States relating to exchange rates recorded at the same time in each Member State ; whereas the rate of exchange between the currencies of two Member States may accordingly be obtained from the relationship between the exchange values of the ECU in those currencies ; whereas if an exchange market is closed the central banks jointly set a rate which is representative for the value of the currency concerned ; whereas it is appropriate to use this rate also as a basis for the calculation of monetary compensatory amounts if such a situation arises, HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION: Article 1 In the following regulations and provisions the words given in six languages shall be supplemented by a Greek version as indicated: >PIC FILE= "T0018128"> (1) OJ No L 291, 19.11.1979, p. 9. COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 3476/80 of 30 December 1980 amending various Regulations as a result of Greek accession
THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,
Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community,
Having regard to the Treaty concerning the accession of the Hellenic Republic to the European Economic Community and to the European Atomic Energy Community (1), and in particular Article 146 of the Act annexed thereto,
Whereas under Article 22 of the Act concerning the accession of the Hellenic Republic adaptations to the acts listed in Annex II to that Act must be made in accordance with the guidelines set out in that Annex;
Whereas adaptations must also be made to acts which were adopted after signature of the Treaty of Accession and are valid beyond 1 January 1981;
Whereas the present provisions of Article 4 of Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2300/73 of 23 August 1973 on detailed rules for applying the differential amounts for colza and rape seed and repealing Regulation (EEC) No 1464/73 (2), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 1234/77 (3), result in the exchange rates being ascertained at different times for the various currencies ; whereas these differences may be avoided by using the rates for the ECU calculated and published daily by the Commission;
Whereas the rates for the ECU are based on data communicated by the central banks of the Member States relating to exchange rates recorded at the same time in each Member State ; whereas the rate of exchange between the currencies of two Member States may accordingly be obtained from the relationship between the exchange values of the ECU in those currencies ; whereas if an exchange market is closed the central banks jointly set a rate which is representative for the value of the currency concerned ; whereas it is appropriate to use this rate also as a basis for the calculation of monetary compensatory amounts if such a situation arises,
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

Article 2
This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 1981.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
